    An early collectors' guide to types of antique silver, written at the time the subject was first coming to popular attention through several important museum exhibitions and the publication of several books. Singleton discusses types of silver-porringers, salt cellars, punch bowls, tea silver, etc., using English and American examples. Many of the the American pieces were by Paul Revere and taken from the R.T.H. Halsey Collection. The Mentor, a bi-weekly and monthly magazine devoted to the arts, literature, history and like-minded scholarly topics for a popular audience, was published between 1913 and 1931.
